Rina K. Shinn, MD, FACS
Dr. Rina Shinn is a board certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of American College of Surgeons who has been in a general surgery practice in Pueblo, serving Southern Colorado since 1997.
In 2008, Dr. Shinn decided to expand her expertise in laser aesthetic fields. She was drawn to aesthetic surgery because it offers a chance to help people in a different way.
"The more I looked into it, the more I was fascinated by all of this new technology," explains Dr. Shinn. "In general surgery, not much changes on a day-to-day basis, but in this field, there are new procedures and technologies literally every day. As I got deeper into my research, it became a full-blown affair for me."

Dr. Rina Shinn is the first surgeon in Colorado to provide Body-Jet, an innovative water-assisted liposuction technique (WAL).

Having practiced general surgery for more than 17 years, Dr. Shinn has a thorough knowledge of facial and body anatomy and physiology. She has performed various "traditional" forms of cosmetic procedures, including traditional liposuction. Dr. Shinn is thrilled with the evolvement of non-invasive cosmetic procedures that feature far less trauma, bleeding and recovery time. Most patients are able to resume their normal activities shortly after their procedure.

Dr. Shinn brings unique service to Southern Colorado. Patients no longer have to drive to Colorado Springs or Denver for many of the services now offered at Adonis Aesthetics. These services are science-based, using the latest technologies and include: the latest water-assisted liposuction technique (Body Jet), permanent hair reduction, incredible facial and skin rejuvenation and tattoo removal.
Dr. Shinn has a B.A. degree from Harvard College with honors and received a M.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She was trained in the University of Arizona General Surgery program.
Dr. Shinn is currently the Chief of Surgery at CMHIP (former Colorado State Hospital) and is a past President of Pueblo County Medical Society as well as a member of Colorado Medical Society. She is an active staff physician at Parkview Medical Center and St. Mary Corwin Medical Center, both in Pueblo, CO.
Dr. Shinn is board certified in American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of American College of Surgeons. She is an associate of American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a member of American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
